An ancient obligation....
A reluctant wizard who despises having it forced upon him....
A mystical romance, full of passion, mystery and intrigue....
A conflicting power struggle haunting two magical brothers....
DARKSTAR...the epic begins
Life is a journey of ups and downs and when it's up, we're happy and content, when it's down, we're frustrated and even depressed. I've decided to change this "Dare to Dream" blog to "Life ... every day a gift" because that's the way I'm trying to live each day ...knowing it is a gift:)

Song and music video being written for DARKSTAR
I am so excited to announce that MATT LANDE, front man for his band, HEAVEN IS WHERE is writing, producing and recording a song for my novel, DARKSTAR!
Matt is an accomplished singer/songwriter/musician/producer originally from New York. Touring all over the country and playing with bands in Florida, Michigan, Virginia, Nashville and Los Angeles, his reputation precedes him. As former lead guitarist, backing vocalist and co-songwriter in the band, "Storyside B," he toured and released an album titled, "Everything And More" on Gotee Records. The album, which is distributed by EMI, has sold over 30,000 copies worldwide to date and landed them the Best New Artist Debut on the billboard charts in '06. In early 2009, Matt returned to L.A. where he burst onto the music scene as lead singer/guitarist in his new band, "Heaven Is Where," and released his, ever popular, album, "Stories From Yesterday." Matt is currently recording his much anticipated and first solo acoustic album, "Welcome Home The Child," which is going to be a spectacular rendition of the diverse talent this amazing musician has.
I am so honored to team up with Matt and have him write my DarkStar song as well as it's accompanying music video, which we will be working on next year! Check out the amazing MATT LANDE at www.mattlande.com or www.myspace.com/heaveniswhere
I hope you will all join MATT LANDE in reading my novel DARKSTAR and be sure to keep an eye out for up-dates on this amazing venture! :)xo

I love the mysteriousness of my name and the symbol that goes along with it; the crescent moon and star. I always thought DarkStar would be an awesome title for a book so, once I actually got serious about writing...that's where my story began. I knew that I wanted it to be a fantasy because of the huge fan base for this genre of book and the fact that I am one of them. I love a story that takes you to the edge of thinking that it could possibly be real...even though it is fiction. The development of my characters was an amazing experience. I had no clue it would be so personal. I have grown very fond of them. The location of DarkStar is in England and Logan, Utah, an area that I love and that has the mysterious element I needed for the setting. The target audience is teen and young adults but I have had readers from age 13 to 65 who have enjoyed the mystery, gripping drama and the unforgettable love story, immensely. They have been quite surprised that it isn't a run of the mill teenage love story.
I started DarkStar in July 2009 and finished in October...4 months. I thought that was pretty good. But the editing, writing, rewriting, researching agents, querying agents, etc., etc., etc., took forever! I finally decided (after rejecting a couple offers once I read their contract), that it was going to be next to impossible, in the publishing world, to have anyone look at my novel, so I opted to self publish. I have been very happy with that decision.
After three years, I released DarkStar. It is the first book of a trilogy. I am working on the second book, "Wizard" but don't have a release date yet. (Not soon enough for those who have read DarkStar!)
My DarkStar reviews, so far, are very positive and it is doing really well! I hope readers will want to explore the DarkStar world. I know they won't be disappointed!!!! You can check out reviews on both my website www.darkstarblog.com and Amazon.com.
DarkStar is available at www.createspace.com/3538868
and on Amazon.com as both book and e-book. E-book is only $2.99!!(less)

Dare to dream....
People ask me why I sign my novel DarkStar with "Dare To Dream." I answer...."because we create our tomorrows with what we dream today." Everything we do, begins with a thought or a dream. I would hate to live in a world with no dreams.
